Juice highlights

We have been active in the juice market for over two decades.

We are one of the world’s largest processors and merchandizers of citrus juices (orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime).

We have a rapidly expanding apple juice business based primarily in China and Poland.

We serve more than 400 clients in over 70 countries.

We hold a leading position in packaging juices in frozen cans for the private label market.

About Juice

The Juice Platform includes orange, grapefruit, lime, lemon and apple juices, and associated by-products.

When citrus fruit is processed, nothing is wasted. The juice is extracted, the oils are recovered and all remaining pulp is transformed into citrus-pulp pellets. These pellets are used as an animal feed ingredient, rich in energy and fiber. The oil essences and aromas are primarily used by the flavor and fragrance industries. We are a major supplier to the leading flavor and fragrance companies around the world.

Brazil and the US are the main producers of orange juice. Florida supplies about 75% of North American consumption and Brazil supplies the rest. Brazil’s primary market is the EU. The rest of the world also relies upon Brazil’s production and it is in these emerging markets that growth is most spectacular.

As for Apple Juice Concentrate, China has grown over the last 20 years to the point where it now accounts for over 80% of the global trade.

Our strengths in Juice

Our success in the global fruit juice business can be attributed to the combination of our extensive physical assets and seasoned management. Our asset base includes nurseries to grow seedling trees; more than 30,000 hectares of citrus groves (with more than 14 million trees); 7 state of the art processing facilities in Brazil, the US, and China; and distribution terminals which handle both concentrate and Not From Concentrate juices.

In the US, we are a leading packager of frozen juice supplying most of the leading grocery store chains. We are involved in the entire value chain of citrus processing from farming to distribution of packaged juices.

In the Port of Santos, Brazil and in Ghent, Belgium, we have citrus terminals capable of handling both Frozen Concentrate Orange Juice (FCOJ) and Not From Concentrate Orange Juice in bulk and drums. We also have significant FCOJ storage capabilities at Indiantown and Winter Garden, US.
